Celebrating 40 years of Raycross business means we’ve looked back through the trends of the last 40 years and today we’ve reach our final decade as we move into the 21st century and look at some more contemporary trends…
Constant innovations over the last 40 years have greatly changed how we perceive and use the kitchen space in our homes and now it’s more frequently used as an area where people gather to eat, relax and socialise. As a result, kitchens have grown in size and layouts have changed from gangway styles to having islands units which create a focal point in the kitchen. Plus, sleek worktops and splashbacks add a stylish visual element to modern kitchens.
The bathroom trends of the 21st century have seen sophisticated black and white colour schemes, spa themed bathrooms, fancy taps, sleek simplistic basins and suspended toilets. Different materials like marbles have made their way into bathrooms across the country giving the room a clean, modern and sophisticated atmosphere. Furthermore, spacious soaking tubs made a comeback and often became the centrepiece of many a bathroom throughout UK. Walk-in showers with almost invisible glass doors look elegant and are perfect for when a quick shower is needed rather than a bath.
Grey is simultaneously stylish and cosy and has become popular in bedrooms. As well as greys, naturals and neutrals have also been on trend and allowing lots of light into the room make rooms feel big and bright.
The 21st century has a much more monochrome theme to the 70’s, 80’s and even the 90’s but splashes of colour still make their way into our homes even now.
